Laingsburg: Starting from Meijer at East Lansing on Lake Lansing, go east on Lake Lansing. The following routes involve a bit of dirt roads, so it will depend on how confident you feel riding on non-asphalted surfaces. Potterville: From Dimondale, go south west on Bridge. Turn south on Waverly and then west on Bishop. Keep going east on Haslett and turn south on Williamston.ĭimondale: Follow the South River Trail in Lansing all the way west to Waverly. After the roundabout, keep east on the nonmotorized path and follow it all the way to Marsh. Williamston: From MSU, go north on Abbott. Leslie: From Mason, you can keep going south on Eden Rd. Turn south and keep on Hagadorn all the way to Mason. I've done these routes a bunch of times and felt safe most of the time. Nice 50 mile rides include basically every small town in the Greater Lansing area. Hopefully you are able to run 28s or wider tires. Plenty of potholes, pebbles, and irregularities. The bad thing is that you're always dealing with Michigan crappy roads. In fact, I feel much safer riding on them than in Michigan Ave., or Kalamazoo (ALWAYS stay away from Kalamazoo.) The good thing is that once you're out of Lansing, most of the secondary roads have very light traffic. In terms of dedicated non-motorized trails, there is not that much in Lansing other that the River and South Trails.
